Greetings, fellow Schaefer (and all variations) researchers! Seeking information on the family of my husband's great grandfather, LEOPOLD SCHAEFER, born in Germany in about 1859. Around 1885 he married ANNA RING, born in Illinois. Anna died in 1895 after having given birth to 3 children: GERTRUDE, FRANK WILLIAM and MAGDALEN. All three were born in Illinois according to the census. He then married Emma Graper, but they had no children. I believe this may be when they moved to Winfield, Indiana, where the grandchildren remember their home. LEOPOLD SCHAEFER (died 1944) and EMMA SCHAEFER (died after 1944) are buried in Oak Woods Cemetery in Chicago, in the Graper family plot. Anyone out there connected in any way? Karen in Georgia
