Dennis, I have a Shaffer in this time frame. Frederick SHAFER arrived in Philadelphia (17??) and worked in the Philadelphia area to pay for his passage. (From a letter written in 1916) The Rev. war records of his son, Adam SHAFER say that Adam was born in New Jersey, fifteen miles from Philadelphia in 1754. The baptismal records of Sara SHAFFER , first daughter of Adam, state that her father's name is John Adam SHAFER. There is a Frederick SHAFER in Cumberland County in 1769 on unwarranted land. Adam Shafer enlisted in the Rev. War in Cumberland County, that part that is now in Franklin County. I have data to share on descendants of Adam SHAFER and i would like to find documentation regarding his parents. Anyone doing research on this family?
