Shaffer was born Abt. 18 November 1822 in OH, and died 05 May 1886 in Daviess Co., Missouri. He married (1) Sarah Evans 27 February 1843 in Putnam Co., Indiana, daughter of Thomas Evans and Margaret Thompson. She was born Abt. 1823 in KY, and died Aft. 22 October 1862 in Adams Co., IL. He married (2) Sarah Jane Landis 17 May 1866 in Adams Co., IL Divorced 23 Nov. 1880 AdamsCo., IL, daughter of Felix Landis and Esther Pound. She was born 25 September 1837 in Columbus, Adams Co., IL, and died Abt. 1909 in Colorado. He married (3) Emily J. Hendericks 06 March 1883 in Daviess Co., Missouri9. She was born Abt. 1843 in IL.
