Was a coporal in the War of 1812 according to Harvia Coates Shaffer Faust genealogy. Stone church cemetary may be where this George Shaffer was buried. http://www.usgennet.org/usa/pa/county/lycoming/cemeteries/christ_Lutheran.html His parents were George Shaffer and Susanna Pifer. Susanna was born 1763 in Northampton County PA and died 17 Jul 1837 in Maple Hill, Lycoming County, PA. She was married in Manayunk, PA, in 1784. George was born 1764 in Cumberland Valley, PA and died 1 Mar 1838 in Lycoming County, PA. I also have records that he died 1 May 1838 in Maple Hill, Lycoming County, PA. I think the revolutionary marker at the stone church is for this George. George and Susanna had 10 children George, b.1784, went to Muncie Indiana John Cornelius, b.1786, War of 1812, d.1857 Samuel, b.1791, War of 1812, d.1845 Martin, b.1793, went to Muncie, Indiania.
