Andrew and Catharine (Henning?) Schaffer were sponsors at the bapt ism. Andrew and Catharine Schaffer were also found in the Milbach Church records. Possibly Andrew was a brother to Michael. Michael Schaffer (no wife) appeared at the Himmel Church Holy Supper with a daughter, Catherine on April 20, 1777 . On April 5, 1778 Michael Schaffer and wife Appolonia had a child, Mary Magdelina, baptized at Zion's (Stone Valley ) Church in Lower Mahoney Twp. On June 10, 1780, Hanna Schaffer daughter of Michael Schaffer and wife, Abolo nia was confirmed at Himmel Lutheran Church. On Aug 17th 1881, Michael Schaffer (no wife) attended the Holy Supper with daughters, Hannah and Margar et . Daughter, Catherine could have married by that time. On October 13th 178 2 , Michael Schaffer (no wife) reported to Holy supper with daughter Hannah. Henry Minijan reported to Holy Supper for the first time with wife, Catherine . Acc ording to the affidavit of Michael's, son Andrew, Michael Schaffer served in the Revolutionary war with John Geroge Peiffer under Captain Reed. Then Mary same DOB same Adam Swab no date. Then John 1816 for DOB married same person you have. Then George W 1818 married Lucinda Harp no date. All children born in Craw- ford Co. Came to TN, Davidson County after Rev. War. Had a land grant, 640 acres, ended up in Smith county, married to Elizabeth Gambrel(Gambill), in 1789. Was killed by Indians in 1793 and she, too, in 1795, after marrying Luke Anderson. Trying to connect Richard to immigrant Shaffer family (which one?). Family stories tell of Heidelberg, but is it Germany or PA? Also have been told of Shaffer's Schoolhouse - town or homestead? Richard came to TN with Hickman, Robertson, Henderson, early settlers, etc. I believe Richard's ancestor may have been on ship or at least knew Caspar Mansker (Metzger) family. Both families ended up in Sumner County, TN in early 1790's (census). Would appreciate help connecting to PA and German Shaffers as I would like to visit locations in both. Am writing our Shaffer history and need to travel to places ASAP. Thanks.
