    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Shaffer, Schlemmer Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/3hGBAEB/1343.1.1.1.1.3.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Ruth, I don't see here if I ever replied but seeing your name, I would hope I had somewhere. Someone related to a Shaffer and Newman?(I think) family sent me a photo of a lady who's name was Schelemmer and a friend of a Shaffer of her Mom's. She didn't know of any relationship, but seeing you with that name and asking about Shaffer, maybe there is more to it than she thought. I know Mom mentioned Newman to me, but I don't think I have found my connection there yet either. I would probably be overwhelmed or Rootsweb would kill me, if I were to post all the surnames Mom mentioned connected to us, I have over 400 and so many remain a mystery. I found many in the paternal side for my Mom, but the Shaffer side is lost to me but my Grandmother. Perhaps someone of the 2 friends married a person from each side of the family names Shaffer and Schlemmer. I believe she sent me the picture to hopefully find it a home. I hadn't given up the hope it would give me a lead to my own Shaffer line too.

I don't know who it would be for sure or it may have been Wherele, am not sure I know only my Grandmother for sure and she was born 1881. Do you have any pictures of this family? I do have a picture of my G-Grandparents but am not computer literate enough to know where to post. Please tell me more.

Surnames: Shaffer, Shafer, Shaefer, Woolley, Wooley, Sherman, Foster, Garver Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3hGBAEB/1054.2.1.1 Message Board Post: I am sure many of you tire seeing me post, but as so many of your surnames are familiar to me, do you know of a Sherman, Foster connection in your family to Shaffer, Schaefer, etc any of the AKA spellings. I only know my Grandmother, maiden name one of the above, Shafer, etc was born in 1881 died 1834/5 OH. I am not sure she was born in Ohio, but think maybe, but not from where she died it appears. I have a picture of my G-Grandparents, but have no clue to her parents given first names. On the back of the photo c 1920's the name is spelled Shaefer but Grandma I was told was a Shafer. Years and still I can't find her. She married a Wooley, Woolley, first child born in Shelby Co., Ohio and then I know they lived in Allen Co., Lima, Ohio until she died. I have found a Sherman who's child was born 1857 which is said to be the date of my G-Grandmother's birth. I know nothing with proof of my G-Grandfather. I believe Grandma had siblings, but am not sure. Maybe she was the youngest and then again her first name was spelled many ways too. So just for now, let me see if anyone out there can relate to the given surnames.

    2. Paul & Shirley
    3. Hi, For too many years I've been searching for information on the parents and siblings of one Edward Shaeffer(Schaeffer) born in 1822 in Middleport, Pa.with little success. Haven't a clue as to who is parents were or his siblings. The following individuals may be connected to my Edward....if you have any knowledge or information, please let me know. Edward Shaeffer (Schaeffer) m. Roseanah Troutman Believe that David Shaeffer living in St. Clair area is a brother also George Washington Schaeffer living in Girardville is a brother. The Abraham and Matilda Zimmerman Schaeffer buried in the Welsh German Cemetery in Middleport are also connection...either as an uncle or older brother. Only sister that may be connected is one Elizabeth Schaeffer m. to an Eli Miller. Okay, a lot of names and assumptions, but too many consequences for these people not to be related. All we need is one break and the wall will come tumbling down....please help!!! Many thanks, Shirley
