Yes, Present day BERKS County, Pennsylvania was until 1752 part of Philadelphia County. My husband's ancestor, Georg Schaeffer arrived in Aug 1750, landing in Philadelphia Port and later locating in Oley and Richmond Twps, Berks County, PA. DL Schaeffer

Harmon SHAFER of Union township, Ohio? Does anyone have any info on these man? In the SHAFER/SHAFFER Bible this clipping from the newspaper is glue to the cover. I am guessing that he is one of Daniel A. and Letticia Margaret (KENNEDY) SHAFER's children. The article: "From the Daily Tribune, Wednesday. Harmon SHAFER, of Union township, this county, d. 29 Jan.
