    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Clow, Clowes, Clower, Crowder, Wooley, Neal, Shafer, Woolley, Gibbs, Colvert, Covalt, Colbert, Covault, Robinson, Weaver, Marrs, Meeks, Stout, Sturm, Cunningham, Allen. Bird Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3hGBAEB/1321.4.1 Message Board Post: Sharol, PLEASE, don't think I am being offensive, but I just saw your message reply to mine and I swear I didn't see it previously, sorry I am later. Now I just wrote to someone regarding family that had Allen, Shafer, Weaver and more write him and his search for Clower and I see you have Clow and Clowes. This is so unreal, I can't help myself from laughing it is all happening right now. When I was reading a post today, I saw names that flashed in my mind about a song, that isn't unusual, but that I should mention a White Dove and then see your reply gave me a smile down to my toes. Then I saw the given name Clifton and went even more wild. In my search for family Bird, I am now going to the birds and songs. My husband will not believe when I try to explain this and may take me off of the computer. I am not sure how all these names connect, but with a Wooley I am trying. My Grandmother was a Shafer, Shaffer, aka's and we do have a Bird that married into my lines too. A friend I made over the years on some of these boards is a Wooley and she has been looking for Crowder and that is the maiden name of another G-Grandmother of mine, but we did find it was not the same. Now, with others including the surname Allen, it appears we still might connect through another Wooley line. It would help if I knew more about my Shaffer, etc family, but I am so trying. Got a new thought from a cousin yesterday, so I am trying again looking for an Edger, or EDgar Shaffer. Now I think I mentioned previously I had a Covalt, Covault that could also be a Colbert. Depending on the pronounciation of the name when others wrote it. Yes, we are still talking about the same family. Back to your Clow, Clowes: hope you know this song! Wolverton Mountain- Clifton Clowers Running Bear, loved Little White Dove. As mentioned to someone else today, Sheb Wooley wrote many of his songs with what I have found to be names in a family. No, I am not aware of his being related but have long admired his music and acting career. I don't know all the songs he has written, wish I did, it sure would be a help some days I think. I don't claim to know anything about "Purple People Eater" though. HAHA Oh, I should so find a way to send this to his agency. Even I think I am going over the edge on using songs for genealogy. Any chance your Clow, Clowes, could be also Clower, Crowder? Have you given it thought? That's it, I quit for now. This has been a strain putting all this together hopefully to make sense. See more surnames above.

Both of these are direct lines of mine. Really there is a Robinson that is supposed to be connected down the line of Sherman who had a daughter that married a Shaffer, but from the dates, I think we are talking about 2 different Mary's OR that could be the flaw in the information given me that I can't relate to my Shaffer, Sherman lines. My GG-Grandfather Sherman b 1818/20 married twice, and though I have only found one daughter not to be the name I was told, I was also informed he had a son that seperated from the family and through his line I find the Robinson there. Now this son is said to have had a sister or 1/2 sister named Mary that married a Shaffer, as did her sister or half sister Lydia marry a Shaffer. These I don't find. I did find a Lydia Sherman that married a Colvin. Please see message to Sharon on this same day for more information there to whom you replied your message. Could be the information I received has 2 generations confused. On the other side of one of my parents I have a GGG-Grandfather Robinson b 1780 listed in my partial family Bible. I have not been able to connect these 2 Robinson's together. My GGG-Grandfather Robinson came from a Large family and he too had many children, after the death of his Father, he came with his Mother and siblings to Ohio. There he married. From there the family spreads out and I am still working on his children's connections. My G-Grandmother Sherman, Shaffer etc was born 1857, he father 1818-1820, he died 1881, the year my Grandmother Shaffer was born (his Granddaughter) Whew! I know there are 2 distinct Robinson's lines, and to date I don't know if the Sherman descendant Robinson is from which line. I can not find the notes I had that gave his given name. Sorry, I am doing this from memory and it gets very confusing to me too. I didn't look to see if you have Colvin and I am trying to find if this might be another spelling of Covalt, Covault I found in the Benham line connected to my Woolley line that married my Grandmother Shaffer.
