I have been trying to trace the whereabouts of Henry Pearson Lithgow, born Sep Q 1874 in E.Preston for some years. He disappears after the 1881 census (Brighton). I have not been able to find either a marriage or a death/burial for him. Another person also trying to trace him found a Percy Lithgow, age 23. 2nd Royal Sussex Regiment, Bengal Command. Died of disease 19.2.1898 Nowshera (Nowkhaar) Khyber, Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan, from the 1896-1900 Army Returns. From this, I ordered the death certificate and this has shown little information from the above, apart from his Rank and Rgt.No. Pte.Sd./4291 and he died of Enteric Fever. If anybody can give me an idea of where to look next, I would be very grateful. I understand the Royal Sussex Regiments archives are at W.S.Record Office and intend to visit as soon as I am able, but wonder if anyone might know of where there may be any more information. I should add, that we have found no birth for a Percy Lithgow of this age and are hoping that he and Henry Pearson are the same person.
