    3. Hello all, Since I can't seem to find a baptismal record for an ancestor, and I've searched all surrounding parishes, I am trying to see if this would be an acceptable hypothesis for a parent. Thoms HOBDEN married Martha Starley in 1820 in Bolney, Sussex. On the parish record, one of the witnesses is a James HOBDEN. This could be his father, a brother or a relative. I found a will from a James HOBDEN who died in 1841 who lists his children (6 of them), and 1 of them is a Thomas HOBDEN. The death date of this James is consistent with a parent dying who could fit my Thomas. Also, it says that this James owned a farm called Hasledean, in Cuckfield, which is only 3 km. from Bolney. In all records, Thomas says he was born in Keymer. I tried to find more information about this farm and couldn't. Would it be an acceptable assumption that this COULD have been his father?
