    3. Tony, Thanks for your help, and thank you everyone else who wrote in too. I actually bit the bullet and ordered the latest version of RootsMagic last night, having read what several listers had said about it. I am aware that I could probably have "made it work", but I'm happy to install the latest version of a program designed to work on both Windows 7 and Eight on all of my computers, main, backup and laptop. With luck it will cross the Atlantic in time for the bearded gent to put it in my stocking. Happy Christmas everyone, Graham -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]On Behalf Of Tony Golding Sent: 17 December 2012 09:41 To: 'SFHG' Subject: Re: [SFHG] Advice sought on catchup Hi Graham Have you tried installing it on Windows 7? I am running a couple of very old programs successfully on it. There are some compatibility settings that you might have to play with (read about these in "Help & Support"). There is also a Program Compatibility Assistant to help. Lastly there is also the option to install a version of XP on a "virtual PC" running under Windows 7. I haven't done that but I think I've seen messages from other listers regarding this in the past. One of these options may save you having to buy and install a completely new piece of family history software.
