Hi Neal Have you tried searching Free BDM for marriages or deaths of the children? The reason you cannot find them in the 1891 Census is probably that they are entered under a variant of the surname; how about the 1901, 1911 census? Michael Burchall Sent from Windows Mail From: Neal Ward via Sent: Friday, 28 November 2014 18:10 To: sfhg@rootsweb.com I have a husband and wife, plus 7 children, all of whom turn up in the 1881 census. The fact that they cannot be found in the I have found a death entry for the mother in 1899, and I believe the father died some time before 1901, as he is described as "deceased" when one of his daughters got married that year. 6 of the 7 children can be traced well into the 20th century, but I cannot find any members of the family 1891, however deep I dig. The parents are EDWARD WILLIAM DOLTON (born Marylebone dist abt 1847) ELIZABETH COOKE DOLTON (WARD) born Horsham 7th September 1848 Children Elizabeth Catherine Dolton bapt 05 Jun 1870 Brighton Agnes Mary Dolton bapt 05 May 1872 Brighton Edward George Dolton born 22 Feb 1874 Kensington district Thomas Richard Dolton born 27 Mar 1876 Kensington district Lilian Margaret Dolton born 09 Jul 1878 Kensington district Sophia Emma Dolton born 23 Mar 1881 Paddington Ellen Maria Dolton born 12 Jul 1883 Bayswater I have used the "similar" search term, as the name is sometimes transcribed as DALTON, but cannot find any of the 9 people listed in the 1891 census. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
