    3. Hi Donna, Probably the best place to try and find this treatise to enquire at The British Library which may have a complete copy. Another line of enquiry would be to enquire of whichever University Chowne attended - if he did - starting firstly at such College Library. Three further thoughts: Lambeth Palace Library, Canterbury Cathedral Library or The Bodleian Library might come up with the goods. Michael Burchall Sent from Windows Mail From: Donna Casey via Sent: ‎Sunday‎, ‎21‎ ‎December‎ ‎2014 ‎17‎:‎25 To: SFHG SxFamHXGrp I am searching for a 'theological treatise" written in 1635 by Thomas Chowne/y of Alfriston. I found a reference about him writing this treatise in The Genealogist (quarterly magazine), H.W. Forsythe Harwood, VOL XXIV, 1908, pg 74 (online Google Books). The reference (#10) at the bottom of the page says the following:"Wood's Athenae," ed. Bliss, Vol. ii, col. 601. I have gone to that publication, volume and col. 601, but I find nothing about Chowne/y or the treatise. I also see another reference for that same # (10) that says the following:"Fuller's 'Worthies,', VOL. III, pg. 258. I cannot find "Worthies", VOL III page 258.Does anyone have access to this publication? OR....can anyone shed light on why I can't find or see the information from the first reference in Wood's Athenae, Bliss, VOL. II, col. 601? Any help or direction will be greatly appreciated.I am trying to sum up the religious 'climate' in Alfriston during this period (1637-1655) and feel that this treatise might give me exactly what I need. Thank you for everyone's help throughout this year.Serious genealogy research truly takes a village, and the SFHG "village" always have been extremely generous to me.
