Peter The Sussex People Index has a reference to a James Punnet marrying Ann Cooper but gives her father as George, husbandman of Heathfield area, East Sussex. Will of George Cooper dated 23 January 1746/7 proved 30 November 1749 (Lewes A58 109). It's not in the SFHG Wills Depository as we only have a note of it. The notes say: son in law Jas Punnett, grandson James Punnett, granddaughter Mary Punnett (son and daughter of Jas Punnett and wife Susannah). That's probably made it worse.
