Sue, I have checked the Horsham baptismal records of John Scutt, the son of John Scutt of Horsham and Elizabeth Bax of Capel, whom I thought might be the parents of your John born in 1802, but their son John was born in 1786, and there does not appear to have been a John Scutt born in Horsham c. 1800, though there were other Scutts living there at the time. Sorry - I thought I had found the right parents, but it does not seem to be so!
