    3. Ben, Since Elizabeth Nicholas was baptised 23 NOV 1623  in Worth (IGI), then that was her parish of origin. Have you looked elsewhere for Benjamin?   As you may know, the IGI does give a Benjamin, baptised 11 NOV 1628 in Bolney, the next-but-one parish to the south of Worth. He was the son of a William Culpepper. The Sussex Marriage Index has the marriage on 13 Jul 1626 of a William Culpeper to Jane Pellat in Bolney. This would fit so sounds like the right family! Furthermore, if you can believe the LDS members' submissions to the IGI, the father was Sir William Culpepper. If this is the right Benjamin C and he was the son of Sir William, then you should be able to find documentary evidence relating to his family, which was probably the famous historical Culpepper family of Wakehurst, etc - see the Culpepper family website at http://gen.culpepper.com/default.asp  which includes databases and historical info.   Good luck! Hope this helps, Christine Jackson SFHG 397 --- On Thu, 8/14/08, RACHEL PURVIS <purvis@waitrose.com> wrote: From: RACHEL PURVIS <purvis@waitrose.com> Subject: [SFHG] Benjamin Culpeper of Worth To: SFHG@rootsweb.com Received: Thursday, August 14, 2008, 4:44 PM Hello, Can anyone help me, I am looking for the baptism of Benjamin Culpeper, who married Elizabeth Nicholas in 1644 at Worth and had six children baptised there. I have searched the Baptism Index and IGI without any luck. Any help would be appreciated, Ben 12053 ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to SFHG-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message __________________________________________________________________ Ask a question on any topic and get answers from real people.
