Hi there Margaret, I did look up George and wife in the 1841 census and there they are in Meon Stoke with daughter Harriet aged 1. I looked for George in 1851 in Meon Stoke but he wasn't there. However he reappears in 1861 as a widower working for the Holland Family at Holland house. The Holland family are a prominent Meon Stoke family in the other censuses. I wondered if you knew the parents of Eleanor were Edmund & Sarah as shown in the IGI. I could not find further info on Harriet that was obvious. Of course Eleanor could have used another name such as Ellen, Ella, Nora, Nell or Lenore (all nicknames for Eleanor). Also it appears Georges parents in Meon Stoke were George & Anna. I hope that some of this is useful to you. She married George HEATH, in Meonstoke, Hampshire on the 9th Feb 1839 [page 3 no 6 Feb 9 1839 George HEATH 26 bachelor & Eleanor PARHAM 26 ? both Meon Stoke X made their marks fathers George HEATH Labourer & ? in the presence of ? - Hampshire Parish Records ] then all traces of her disappear, plus there does not appear to be any births in this family. Her husband George HEATH reappears in 1842, marrying Ann SMITH at Portsmouth (I think) We assume that Eleanor most likely has died in this intervening period, perhaps in childbirth. But as yet the Meonstoke Burials Parish records have not been transcribed, where she was most probably living. Would anyone be able to help with this problem, or be able to look up any relevant records. Thanking you in anticipation.
