Robin, A very poor collection of the De La Warr archives in extremely bad condition was deposited in ESRO in the late 1970s. I do not know if it has been conserved and catalogued but you could enquire via email to ESRO to see the current state of play with the collection. Mrs Judy Brent and myself retrieved the collection from what was in effect a barn at Buckhurst; it was extremely fragile and fragmentary but there may be some household records among the archives. The other major collection is that of the Sackville family which was at Kent Archives office and which is, I believe, catalogued on the A2A website but you would need to check. Kent Archives is also contactable via email. I am interested as a story has come down through my family that it might be related to the Sackville family via a 'master/servant' relationship which is what my grandfather said he was told by his grandmother, the servant in question.> > For a start it would be nice to find out if the 'servant', my 2xgreat-grandmother, did work for the De La Warr family.> > Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated..> > Many thanks.> > Robin> > > > > -------------------------------> To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to SFHG-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of! the message _________________________________________________________________ News, entertainment and everything you care about at Live.com.
