A quick note to let everyone know that my ancestral journey to East Sussex this June/July was a wonderful one.  I learned about and saw the actual building my ancestor Pardon Tellinghurst lived in in Alfriston from c1637 to 1644 and proudly showed my son all of our ancestral lands and buildings throughout East and West Sussex.   However, the very best part was presenting to St. Peter's Church, Ardingly, a needle-pointed hassock I had made over the winter.  It was the "Tillinghurst Farm" hassock. (The Tillinghurst Farm is in Ardingly). I have Barbara Lucas of Ardingly who is a member of SFHG, to thank for helping me make that come to fruition.   Thank you to anyone else in SFHG who might have contributed to this being one of the best visits to my ancestral land ever.   Donna TILLINGHAST Casey Michigan, USA If you want to understand today, you have to search yesterday.
