The Generations software will run on XP and Vista, but to have all the functions work properly and avoid data loss you need Generations 8.5a. The old Sierra version is not recommended on XP as I know from personal experience data can just disappear. I'll not advertise where you can get it, an internet search finds it quite easily or contact me direct.
