I'm new to this group and have started to research my paternal grandmother's family. Their surname is Thunder and the earliest person I can find is Carter Thunder, born 1775 (don't know where), died 1839 in Brighton. He was married in 1800 at St Michael, Lewes. I've found a large number of much earlier Thunders at Chiddingly (through IGI) and a place called Thunder's Hill nearby. I'd like to try and trace the family back from Carter Thunder and see if there's a link to these earlier Chiddingly Thunders. Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks. Judith 12782
