>Hello Listers, I make these comments as a Mac user, not as an expert. Firstly, nothing in the computer world ever stays still and it is difficult to keep up with changes in both hardware and software. The new generations of both enable people to do things not possible even 12 months ago. Software: I have used a number of versions of Reunion up to V9 for a number of years and found it a good basic programme, relatively simple to use and stable. Lets face it, for a long time there was nothing else for the Mac. But there is now another programme available called MacFamilyTree 5 which can be downloaded. For more information go to http://www.synium.de/products/macfamilytree/index.html It claims to be the most advanced genealogy application for the Mac and is also GEDCOM compatible. Hardware: The latest models of the Mac fitted with G5 Intel processors come loaded with the programme "Boot Camp" which allows users to boot into Windows and which provides basic compatibility. However, possibly a better alternative is to use programmes such as VMware "Fusion" or "Parallels" which allow Windows and Mac OS X to operate simultaneously. One pays ones money and takes ones pick! I hasten to add that I have had no experience with the programmes mentioned under hardware. Regards, >Bryan 11480 > >Dear Corinne, > >I know how you feel.
