    1. [SFHG] Problem with Windows & ZoneAlarm

    3. Hi Listers If anyone out there is using ZoneAlarm products to protect their systems, DO NOT install the Microsoft update KB951748 (Microsoft Security Bulletin Reference MS08-037), issued this week, until you have updated ZoneAlarm to the latest version (see http://www.zonealarm.com/store/content/support/support.jsp?dc=56pus&ctry=GB& lang=en). If you do, you will probably lose your Internet access. I did, and it took me 1.5 hours to work out why and resolve the problem! Unfortunately if the MS update has already been installed, users won't see the warnings, and won't be able to search for the answer. If you know anyone in this position, the answer is to remove the MS update, then apply the ZA update, then re-apply the MS update. Hope this saves someone the time and inconvenience I just experienced! Regards Tony Golding (11552)

    3. I also had this problem, but having decided that my connections and hardware were all working, I thought it must have something to do with the updates. I solved the problem by restoring my settings to a date before I lost internet access and blocked the updates. Today I had my message fron Zonealarm warning me of the problem and hope it is now sorted with their new upgrade.
