Dear All, I am stuck at a brickwall of the origins of my GGGgrandfather George Lower. I found a very likely Lower family in Seaford where according to census my George Lower was born. If I am right his father James Lower a carrier died in 1814 in Seaford. His mother Elizabeth Lower nee Devall remarried on 24 June 1818 in Bishopstone nr. Seaford to Thomas Housely a widower of "this parish". I can find no other records of Thomas Housely in that area. I have found a Death record of a Thomas Housely 11 July 1833 in Rye Baptist. But I cannot find a record of Elizabeth Housely after the marriage. I was hoping to find the whereabouts of Elizabeth Housely and maybe a clue to a link to my George Lower. If anyone can help as to any Housely records I would very much appreciate it. Regards Vic Phillips
Dear All, Many thanks to those who have responded to me about family tree stuff on Mac. Has anyone moved from FTM on Windows to Reunion? If so, is it possible to transfer the information already on FTM to Reunion, or do you have to re-enter everything from scratch? (We have the two computers set up so that we can access information - photographs, documents etc that are on Windows - and pull it across to the Mac.) Second topic, reverting to a discussion from a while ago about how long it takes to get certificates now - I'm going for a record here with one ordered on 27 May and still not arrived. Nothing daunted, I sent off for a few more a couple of days ago, one of which was a death in 2001, ie the new system of numbering. Last night in came an email saying it couldn't be processed and refunding the 7 pounds. It has gone off again, but this time with a district number as well as the name (Torbay). This number doesn't appear on the Ancestry information for a death certificate, but we found it on FindMyPast. I've got my fingers cross that this was what was needed, but I thought I should let others know that Ancestry appears to be missing something the system now requires. Regards, Eleanor 11833
