Hello I have obtained copies of the baptismal records of a family living in Kennington Surrey and baptised at St Mary Lambeth. The father's occupation on all seven children's baptisms is recorded as "Deputy Marshall". This is how spelt in all entries. I have looked in two early occupation books that I own but neither mentions this particular occupation. Would appreciate information on what this position actually did.
