    3. Alan. In your original message requesting information about Mary Ann Dyer, you said she married James Boxall in Sussex in 1898. Was the date a typing error? I did a quick check on www.freebmd.org.uk and found James Boxall married Mary Ann Dyer in Sussex in 1884. The reference is Westhampnett 2b 611. I suspect she is the Mary Ann Dyer in the 1851 census at Shettleston (age 1 lodging ? with the Semple family) in 1861 census at Cambuslang (age 11 with her EADIE grandparents) in 1871 possibly working as a cook in Weybridge Surrey (age 23 but shown as born Scotland Sterling). All rather confusing - where were her parents in 1851 & 1861? Hope this helps. John Cain 10370

    3. Thanks John, you are quite right they were married in 1884 at Westhampnett. Mary Ann died in 1898. The 1891 census shows her place of birth as Glasgow. In 1881 there is a Mary Ann Dyer born in Scotland working as a cook at Clifton College, Glos. Apolgies for 'clerical' error. I hope to receive her marriage certificate in a few days. They seem to take for ever to arrive in Spain.
