If any members visit Hurstpierpoint, and go to Farm Park on the Brighton Road for refreshments, just south of there, in a field, is a concrete 'Hereford' cow. But the black markings are a map of Europe! On the OS Landranger map 198 Brighton & Lewes road B2117 - it is by the side road leading to Bedlam Street, by the figure 7 on the map. I saw it whilst finding the way my family must have walked, from Pyecombe Street to go to Hurstpierpoint. It seemed odd, from a distance, as there were no other cows in the field, and it wasnt moving. I walked along that lane out of curiosity, and was leaning on the fence laughing, when the farmer and his wife came along. They obviously were pleased someone appreciated their sense of humour !
