Hi All, Thank you for your help with this, especially Andrea, Julie, Melissa, Stephen, Margaret, Pauline and Bridget. It would appear that Eliza Alice Taylor 1868 Jun qtr Shoreditch is the most likely candidate to be her and have now requested the certificate. Also James Taylor and Martha Sparrow 1866 Sep qtr Pancras to be her parents, certificate also requested. In 1871 census at 7 Arundel Street, Bethnall Green; James and Martha are resident with Eliza and Amelia plus neice and nephew Caroline and James Sparrow aged 9 and 19 respectively. In 1881 census at 8 Market Street, Brighton; James and Martha are resident with Eliza, Amelia, Martha, George and Frederick. In 1887 (june qtr Brighton) Martha Ann Taylor aged 39 died. In 1891 census at 8 Cheltenham Place, Brighton; James is resident with his new wife and George, Frederick and Alfred plus nephew William Taylor aged 21 and neice Ellen Marsh aged 14. I have tried to trace James Taylor and Martha Sparrow's births on FreeBMD, but to no avail. Neither can I find them on 1861 census where they would both be aged 14. I may have come to a standstill again, but at least I have at last made some progress. Thank you again for your help. Alan Tubb (membership 1917)
