Hi Helen, For some reason I am unable to open your attachment . The reason I wanted to see the original census is that the transcription shows William P Wood as the Head and is 22 years old. Hannah had a son Willaim P who would be that age. Therefore I suspect the other William listed is actually Hannah's husband and head of the household. Does the original clearly show 30 years or could it be 50? Best wishes Alan. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Helen Shipley" <natbrent@fastmail.fm> To: "Alan" <alaninspain@msn.com> Sent: Saturday, April 12, 2008 8:16 PM Subject: Re: [SFHG] 1881 census > Here is the transcript and will attach copy of image too: > > 1881 England Census 1881 England Census > Name: Hannah Wood > Age: 52 > Estimated Birth Year: abt 1829 > Relation: Mother > Gender: Female > Where born: Shipton Beauchamp, Somerset, England > > Civil Parish: Stoke Damerel > County/Island: Devon > Country: England > > Street address: 3 Lambert St > Condition as to marriage: Married > Education: > > Employment status: View Image > > Registration district: Stoke Damerel > Sub-registration district: Morice > ED, institution, or vessel: 5 > Neighbors: View others on page > Household Members: Name Age > Fanny Chorley 6 > George Wood 14 > Hannah Wood 52 > John Wood 18 > William Wood 30 > William P. Alan, William P Wood is listed as Head of House and his parents and brothers (John and George) and a visitor (Fanny Chorley) are listed as living with him. William P Wood's age is 22. William Wood's age is 50 (it has a line through it and could be misread as being 30).
