I was still able to opt for XP Professional a few months ago when buying a PC direct from Dell, but I don't know whether they still offer it as an option. As far as I can make out, officially vendors can still supply XP until the end of June 2008, when it will be withdrawn from sale by Microsoft. Personally I would seek out XP and avoid Vista like the plague...
