Jennifer - Vista has its faults, but not enough to worry about. Youy do need loads of memory (RAM), however, and I would recommend that you also buy a memory Stick, which can act as supplementary RAM as well as being a convenient backup medium. I got mine from Amazon at less than £20 for 8GB. The most annoying feature of Vista, in my experience, is the tendency to switch itself off when you use the 'Sleep' command, which means you lose anything you haven't remembered to save. As I had Windows 98 before I upgraded, it took a time to get used to, but now I wouldn't want anything else.
