I have decided to try my luck at my biggest brick wall which has lasted around 20 years so far without any luck. Eliza Alice Taylor married Arthur Tugwell on the 13th June 1886 at St Peters Church, Brighton. She is shown as aged 20, a spinster and her father is James Taylor, a carman. The witnesses are James Taylor and Amelia Taylor. They had 6 known children :- James (1887), Martha (1888), Elizabeth (1891), Jane (1894), Arthur (1896) and Dorothy (1899) all born in Brighton. On the census, she gives her place of birth simply as London and still indicating that she was born around 1866. I have done a blanket search of the Records Office at Aldwych searching for Eliza Alice Taylor with father of James without any success. With such a common name and in London, it has been a bit of a headache. I am therefore, hoping that there is someone within the Sussex group who may just by some chance have the answer of when, where and to whom she was born. Thanking you for any help you can give.
