I also have Sussex HEAD ancestry - Joan Head married William BYSH at East Grinstead 26 Nov 1674 - one of 33 E Grinstead HEAD marriages on Sussex Marriage Index CD, which also has two Frances Head marriages, viz., Thomas BROOKER (1833) and John CHINNOCK (1835) both Brighton area - neither your HEAD man ! The mapping facility on the Sussex Marriage Index CD clearly shows the migration of this surname. Are there other HEAD hunters out there? I have a Mary Head married Heathfield 1784, died 1862, as my 4x great grandmother, also a George Head married 1893 Uckfield. But I could not claim to be hunting that particular branch...until now, that is....
