I have a 1712 burial record which states the deceased was a 'traveller'. Does anyone know whether the term had its Romany connection in the 18th century? Or might it have something to do with his occupation (e.g. travelling tradesman or salesman)? Or did it just mean he was from another parish? A man with the same name had two children baptised in the same parish a few years earlier. I am wondering how likely it was to be the same man. Cordelia 14526
