Is there a way I can get the Data Archive burial lists to display by either surname or date, rather than by first name only? I am trying to find Penfold babies dying 1842 - c.1870 in Shermanbury. I know from a Shermanbury headstone that a particular Penfold family had 8 children buried as infants but I only have names and dates for five of them. So, can I re-arrange the set to display by surname or do I need to go through each page individually searching for Penfold. Sorry, I am not very computer literate and I find it really hard to use the sfhg data archive - most of the time it refuses to respond to me at all anyway. :-) Cordelia Hull 14526

Hello Cordelia, All you have to do to see the surnames is to click on the up/down arrow over "Surnames" and the surnames come up in alphabetical order. As "P" is near the end, then I generally go to "last" page and work backwards 4 or 5 at a time... In your case the Penfold name is on page 8 and there are nine of them. Good luck! Brilliant , Mary. Just what I wanted to hear. It worked. I knew it would be something simple. (As I said, I am a computer illiterate and don't find these things intuitively). Now I only need to check the Penfolds, not everyone who was ever buried in Shermanbury. Yay. Thanks so much.
