Thanks, Marion. I have Wills for many Ayling descendants, and have about 35 transcribed now. I have records from all parishes in the general area. I have figured out that there are four separate Ayling family lines buried at St. James. There are Aylings "of Ash" likely descended from Nicholas Ayling who built Ash House in 1626. There are Aylings "of Minsted" who likely descended from Anthony Ayling (D. 1626). There is a line descending from John (1706) who I have not figured out where he links up on my tree, which is now over 1,000 Aylings. And then there are the two grouping with Thomas (1689-1759) and William (D. 1724). I have the Wills for Thomas and William. Thomas leaves it to the discretion of his executor, his second wife and son from his first marriage, where he is buried. William, wife and children do not mention Thomas in any Wills. It really is a puzzle that has remained untouched after over one year of research (wherein I have solved a lot of other Ayling lines down into the 1400's!). Thanks for any reference info you can pass along.
