    3. Thanks for resolving that, Wendy. Irene was just a random example to show the surname treatment on the 1939 Register but now George Frank is the mystery! The register shows %2fr39%2f0112%2f0112b%2f009%2f06 George F Stoner 1881 Chelsea London %2fr39%2f0112%2f0112b%2f009%2f07 Irene Lillian Stoner 1907 Chelsea London The FreeBMD entry in 4Q1895 Stoner Male Wandsworth 1d 649 is I think for the only George Frank Stoner I know. He was a fine art dealer like his father George Henry Stoner and his baptism is on Ancestry 29/10/1895 Clapham. Irene Lillian Stoner and George Frank Stoner appear on passenger lists and USA/Canada border crossings - I don't have a world wide Ancestry subscription and cannot tell if they were together. US Social Security entries include one for a George Frank Stoner and an Irene L Stoner death in South Africa in 1987. I do not have deaths for either of them in England and Wales. BUT the 1939 Register puts a spanner in the works with 1881 as his year of birth. And I thought it was going to help!
