Hi I think there is an ongoing free search site similar to FreeBSD, but much less complete. I found it by googling, but didn't find anything useful to me - sorry, can't remember the name.I have used Scotland's People a lot in the past. You have to register, and buy 30 credits at a time - about £7 UK I think. It is very comprehensive, and has original records, and you can download entries in many cases. I have found it well worth it, especially if you know enough details to limit your search parameters.
