Hi All, Is that 'free' if you have a Findmypast Subscription, or free for everybody? I use Ancestry. For free. You could display the pages for a surname and copy and paste them into a spreadsheet. A little tidying might be needed at page ends. Then a sort would put them into a geographical sequence that might help. Surnames shown in the results may be confusing. If two are shown, the one in parentheses appears to be the surname in 1939. A search on Irene Stoner gave First name(s) Last name(s) Birth year Borough / District County Irene F Stoner 1906 Worthing M.B. Sussex Irene Lillian Stoner 1907 Chelsea London Irene Dawson (Stoner) 1928 Poplar London Irene Marshall (Stoner) 1914 Leeds C.B. Yorkshire (West Riding) Irene G Stoner (James) 1911 Great Yarmouth C.B. Norfolk Irene F Hamlyn married Alec Stoner in 1934 so was Stoner in 1939. Irene Lillian is currently a puzzle. Irene 1928 is single and will marry Mr Dawson in 1948. Irene 1914 may be Irene Cowburn who married Fred Stoner in Leeds in 1937 and will marry Mr Marshall in 1959. Irene G James will marry William Stoner in 1946. Another approach involves looking at the source of the results pages on the web. There's a lock number a few lines after each entry. A lock number appears to finish with household e.g. %2f010 and person e.g. %2f36. Here I've put a few entries and their lock numbers. They all have %2f010 and seem to be in the same household. %2fr39%2f0441%2f0441f%2f010%2f36 Albert E Stoner 1877 Poplar London %2fr39%2f0441%2f0441f%2f010%2f37 Elizabeth E Stoner 1892 Poplar London %2fr39%2f0441%2f0441f%2f010%2f38 Ellen E Forbes (Stoner) 1914 Poplar London %2fr39%2f0441%2f0441f%2f010%2f41 Irene Dawson (Stoner) 1928 Poplar London Albert E %2f36 was the father of Ellen and Irene. Their later marriages are noted, Ellen married William Forbes in 1Q1940, and Irene married Sydney Dawson in 1948. Not sure from where that came but it's useful. I can't place Elizabeth E at the moment. %2f39 and %2f40 must be non-Stoners in the household. I haven't yet investigated an extreme case of surnames %2fr39%2f2431%2f2431c%2f012%2f10 Adelaide Elizabeth Ignham (Brooks,Stoner,Roach) 1911 Brighton C.B. Sussex but I know she was a Roach when she married Arthur Stoner in 1946. So if you think two people may be in the same household, you can check their lock numbers in the source. I hope that helps a few and will not confuse too many! Alan 1350
