Hi Diana, Cannot help you with any detailed information but add the thought that in 1951 the American probably came to Europe via sea and there must be records of his re-entry into America when his holiday was over. Have a look for US Immigration records which may separate him from the film star! I am helping a friend look for her natural father.  Her mother went to Paris in 1951 where she met an American touring Europe.  They had an affair and parted - he may not even have known she was pregnant.  All we know about him is that he was born in the late 1920s and came from New York where he studied art.  I have his name from the adoption records but unfortunately he shares this with a current US film star, so every time I google it, I get endless references to the star.  This is not helping!   I suspect similar situations arose during and after WW2, and that many children by US citizens are looking for their natural fathers.  Does anyone have any suggestions about helpful websites etc?   Diana No. 9914
