I had been on vacation and now playing catchup. I have some additions to Charles' postings of Severs in censuses. In the 1820 Posey Co., IN census I have George Severs: males 2-(16-18), 2-(16-26), 1-(45 & up), females 1-(45& up), 3 in AG. Jacob Severs: males 2-(0-10), 1-(16-26), 1-(40 & up), Females 3-(0-10), 1-(26-45), 3 in AG. In the 1830 Posey Co., IN census (this one was very hard to read)I have: Francis A. Severs males 1-(20-30) Females 1-(0-5), 1-(15-20). Lorenzo D. Severs males 1-(0-5), 1-(10-15), 1-(20-30), Females 2-(0-5), 1-(20-30). These two men are brothers. IF their father was still alive he would have been living with Francis. There may have been a mark in the box that would have been the correct age. I just couldn't tell if it was a true mark of an actual person or just microfilm scratches. The whole film was very faint. In the 1840 census I couldn't find my James M. Severs in Washington or Jefferson Co's., IL. So I did a line by line search in Johnson ( his presumed son Abram married Rebecca Dubois in Johnson Co., IL 1843. That is why I looked in this county) and found a James Svers, Lveres. This might help someone. I was hoping this is my James Sevrs. But his age either is marked wrong or it's not him. It would explain how Abram and Rebecca met if he is my James. In the 1850 IL Jefferson Co., IL census I had to do a line by line search for Abram Severs and found him. I later found him in the index under Levers. Just watch out for those L's and S's. I hope this info helps someone. Kathy Pugh
