Below are some Se(a)ver(s) records from early southwest VA and northeast TN. I have more complete entries as well as sources; contact me off-list to request the complete file. Scott Co, VA was formed 1814 from Washington Co, VA (not to be confused with Washington Co, TN which was formed from Washington Co, NC). Hawkins Co., TN borders on Scott Co, VA; Sullivan Co, TN borders on both Scott & Washington Co, VA. BTW, one of the last entries, dated 1830, refers to Jacob Seavers, deceased. Esther Croberger Seaver's DoD of 1854 has sometimes been attributed to Jacob, but it seems clear that he died in the 1820s. It is also most often stated that Jacob and the family moved to Switzerland Co, IN in 1818 or 1819. He may have bought land there in 1818 and/or 1819, but a Jacob Seaver and a family which matches his are included in the 1820 Scott, VA census. Also note the lawsuits dated 1820 and 1821 with reference to Jacob. Pat ************************************* Geo Severes 0122 Sullivan 200 28 mar 1781 beg. at M.
