Pat; I know it is dumb. It was on the Anderson Co web site and came up on a search for James Sever or Seaver or Severs (I think the latter). I scrolled through many pages and was unable to tell which year. I do know that Wm Sr was in Anderson Co from the beginning and in Knox Co earlier. Wm Jr was born l797 or so. John was born l798 or so. Mary Polly was born l896 or so Daniel H was born l802 Jacob Peck Severs was born l809 James and George are unconnected. This james would be born before l820 if son of Wm Sr and after l820 if son of WIlliam Jr. or one of the others. I knew this question would come up quickly and should have explained but it was so wordy. Thanks again I did think access to the printed census. The page 172 would be the key Come to think of it. This appears to suggest it is Wm Sr and grandson James. Maybe the ages will tell, but I dont have the code. Hope you have it. l840 Nothing in TN. I believe that what I was looking for was numbered differently than what I have here. The entries would suggest strongly that it was l830 Census. I am surprised to find a William in AR or AL as I did not think William Jr had left TN by that time. He seems to be listed BOTH places (Clinton Co TN and in AR both). ALso James Severs if son of William Jr was not born until about l830 and would NOT be an adult until MUCH LATER so this James must be someone else--If so I was proposing son of WIlliam Severs Sr and Catherine Peck I am going to send this to Severs-L and see if anyone else is familiar with any of this sufficiently to make a comment. Those uninterested can delete quickly. Let me know if you want spelling variants and which one. if Seaver is searched it will make the list quite long in about l850. My John Severs born l798 TN moved to Nodaway Co MO in l849 and was listed as Seaver or Seavers at that time.
