There were two other "mysterious William Severs (Maybe 3). One is speculated to be a brother of Jacob Seaver son of HEnry and Elizabeth and who married Ester Croberger. I believe about the only evidence of him is an l800 Botetout Co VA census entry and his bonding the marriage of Elizabeth Seaver to James Lamar in l796 Botetout Co. The other was born l788 and seemed to be connected to a Florida group of Severs and had a son named Jeremiah, who was not the same as Jeremiah Seaver son of Jacob. I believe someone on the Severs-L or similar has, actually, worked this William out along with Jeremiah. If specifically interested we might start a discussion about what is known about these various "Old Williams" Charles Severs --part1_64.14e06f27.290186fc_boundary Content-Type: text/html; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
In a message dated 10/18/01 10:33:46 PM Eastern Daylight Time, seaverp@mail.localnet.com writes:

What was the protocol back then for illegitimate children?
