    3. The George who was on early land and tax records of Sullivan Co, TN must have been too old to have been a son of William & Catherine Peck Severs. I believe there are a couple of records from 1796 and 1797, and then he disappears. If a George shows up elsewhere thereafter, is there any evidence, or better yet, proof, that it was the same George? If so, is there any hint of his age? Note that the William (1752-1852) who married Catherine Peck was 40-ish when they married. Perhaps he had been married before. I have looked at the possibility that the William 1752-1852 was the father of the William who died in Wythe, VA in 1817. There are Bible records that indicate that the children of his first marriage were born between 1794 and 1805. From those dates, it would seem that William-1817 could have been a contemporary of Jacob, Elizabeth (Lamar) and John. It seems to me that we don't have enough information about the George of Sullivan, TN to know whether he was a contemporary of Jacob, etc. (born 1770s??) or of the 1752-1852 William. One possible scenario would be that the 1752-1852 William was a younger brother of the Henry b. @1743 who is said to have been the father of Jacob, Elizabeth Lamar, & John. The William-1817 could have been (1) another son of Henry or (2) a s/o the 1752-1852 William by an earlier marriage. Given that George left traces in Sullivan Co. close to the same time that Jacob and William-1817 were in the Scott/Hawkins/Sullivan area, it would seem that George could have been a either the son of or the brother of Henry b. 1743.
