Kathy....Hi (Mike Severs, Jamestown, Ohio) I haven't heard from you in a long time. I have not been into my genealogy for a year or two. But your e-mail post sure caught my attention: I wonder if this could be the same George Severs, I find in Ohio in a 1825 tax list for Greene County, Ohio? I find reference to him in the 1810 census records for Virginia and then the 1830 census for Ohio. The children listed are exactly 10 yeas older, so they seem to match. I have always thought this is the Father for my James Severs, b. 1801 in Virginia. The tax list in Greene County Ohio is the same Township where James is first listed in the census records as a young man. Can you share with me a .pdf file and the information you have? My HOME E-MAIL is still: ww4864@dragonbbs.com Thank You, Michael P. I had previously found a George Severs selling land in Sullivan Co., TN 1815. So I believe that the George Severs selling land in TN and the George Cevers (Severs) purchasing land in IN are the same person. Just a little tidbit someone may be interested in: Most land grants purchased before 1820 are probably credit sales. These are not on the BLM website. The credit sale program was discontinued 1820.
