Jacob Seaver 1820 Scott Co. VA census (borders Sullivan & Hawkins, TN): Males 0-10 3 (Jacob [Jr.], Benjamin, John) 10-16 2 (George, Joseph) 16-26 2 (Henry, Jeremiah) 45+ 1 (Jacob) Females 0-10 3 (Esther Susanna, Mary, Elizabeth) 10-16 1 (Melinda) 26-45 1 (Esther [Croberger] Seaver) 45+ 1 (Jacob Seaver's mother???; Esther's parents were in Hawkins, TN) No more information is known of William b. @1800. He may have died young, or by 1820 may have been living elsewhere. Greenberry was not yet born. Otherwise, the Scott Co, VA family fits the family of Jacob & Esther of Scott, VA and Switzerland Co, IN. Jacob is found in the 1810 Washington Co, VA census; Scott county was established 1814 from Washington Co. Esther's parents lived in Hawkins Co. TN. Hetty Seavers is named in her father's will. Scott/Washington Co., VA border on Hawkins and Sullivan Co., TN. It therefore seems more likely that the Jacob of land records in Sullivan Co. in the 1790s and early 1800s was the Jacob who was in 1810 and 1820 in Washington/Scott, VA. The Jacob of southwest VA and northeast TN is believed to be the son of Henry and Elizabeth Seaver(s) of Botetourt Co. and Russell Co, VA. Their daughter Elizabeth married James Lamar. Another brother, John, married a Susanna, and sired a son Lemuel. It is possible that the George Severs of early Sullivan Co. was another son of Henry & Elizabeth. I also *speculate* that the William Se(a)ver(s) who died about 1817, leaving children by his first wife in Wythe Co. and his second wife and their children in Scott Co. was another son of Henry & Elizabeth. If he was, he may be the William who witnessed the marriage of Elizabeth Seaver and James Lamar in Botetourt, VA in 1796. This is my husband's line. The spelling of the surname of the family of southwest VA and northeast TN was very inconsistent. I've seen Sivers, Severs, Seavers, Seaver, Seivers, Sievers in records. Pat Seaver -- Patricia M.
