    1. Re: SEVERS-D Digest V04 #19
    2. I have been wondering about this George Severs also. He is in the 1860 Union County, IL census and has a son by the name of Lorenzo D. Severs. My George Severs born circa 1760 named one of his sons Lorenzo Dow Severs. Just in case no one knows about this, Lorenzo Dow was one of 4 preachers to start a certain religion (and I'm sorry, but I can't remember what religion) in this country about late 1700's. If you do a google search for Lorenzo Dow you should be able to find more about him. My James Severs' probable father was George Severs born circa 1760. In 1820 this family was in Posey Co., IN. I believe there was a possible brother to this George by the name of Jacob. Jacob had children, but I don't know any of their names. I may have possible names to two of his daughters. Both of these men were in Black Twp, Posey Co.,IN. My James Severs was in Washington Co., IL by 1824. James' son, Abram, married in Johnson Co., IL 1843. Johnson Co in next to Union Co. I don't know if this means anything, but I have always wondered why Abram married in Johnson Co. when his father and his wifes parents were in Washington Co., IL, unless there were other family members there.
