v-n Severs of Newton Co MO is in search of a Severs bible from the family of John Severs l798 or possibly a son or grandson. Are you familiar with anyone who might know of such a bible to obtain information on anything written therein. I am in touch with Carol Clouse whose brother is a direct male Descendant of William Severs born l797. Her brother is critically ill and not expected to survive. She and I are ordering DNA tests on me and her brother to determine if DNA proves or disproves that William Severs and Jacob Peck Severs have a common ancestor. I am satisfied that they do but Carol is not. I suggested the 12 or 25 marker test as sufficient for that proof and she feels the 37 marker test should be done. If anyone has any advice on the subject please let me know. If anyone has any information on a direct male descendant of Daniel Severs born 1800 and found in Madison AL l850 census with son Hugh M Severs, Charles J Severs born l8ll of Washington Co AR, Frederick Ballard Severs born l835 in Washington Co AR and son of Charles J Severs, Samuel B Severs son (illigitimate) of Frederick B Severs, or any other possible Severs direct males for addition to the DNA study it would be a good time for it to be done and compared. I feel that the proof that John Severs l798 and Jacob Peck Severs l8ll is satisfactory and consider the DNA study to prove that they are brothers unnecessary.
