I have just begun researching my Severs family line after learning that my g-g-grandmother Beulah Shemeley Severs is the daughter of Benjamin Asbury Severs and Elma Hurley. Both the Severs and the Hurley families connect to very early Burlington Co. families such as the Haines, Borton, Sharp, and Stokes families, all of whom are well-documented. I have accumulated quite a bit of research on the Burlington Co. Severs line, including early NJ wills from the NJ Archives. My concern is trying to determine if my Severs line is directly connected to the line of Robert Seaver and Elizabeth Ballard who settled in Roxbury, MA in 1634. A number of online family trees list my g-g-g-g-g-grandfather Peter Severs (who married Hannah Lewis on July 16, 1757 in Evesham Twp., NJ in Burlington County) as the son of Shubael Seaver II, who is in the direct line to Robert and Elizabeth, but offer no verification. Verification is what I seek. Thanks! Jim Roache Burlington, NJ
